Colorado.com has compiled the following list of upcoming activities, events and openings:

ADVENTURE

Christian Vande Velde Cycling Experience

Little Nell Hotel is offering guests the opportunity to ride with pro cyclists when the USA Pro Challenge passes through Aspen August 19-20. 

Fly-Fishing Camp 

On May 28 Colorado Springs’ celebrated resort, The Broadmoor, opens a private fly-fishing camp on the Tarryall River featuring a beautifully-restored lodge and seven cabins.

Golf Bikes in Vail

The Vail Golf Club takes “green transportation” to a new level by introducing an alternative to walking or using a cart. Use the bikes to carry clubs and increase fitness.

Gore Canyon Whitewater Park

A new, manmade whitewater feature at the BLM Pumphouse on the Colorado River creates waves for kayakers and stand-up paddle boarders.

Rocky Mountain Sailing

The St. Regis Aspen Resort and the Aspen Sailing School will offer sailing classes at 9,000 feet above sea level. 

Royal Gorge Bridge & Park Additions

The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park has a new Poma Tram and Zipline, 2,400 feet over the Royal Gorge and 1,200 feet above the Arkansas River.

Zip Line on Rabbit Ears Pass

New attraction complements hiking, biking and sight-seeing options outside Steamboat Springs.

The Art Hotel

New 165-guest room boutique hotel in Denver features vibrant art. Located across from the History Colorado Center and next to the Denver Art Museum.

The Little Beaver Inn

New property in Green Mountain Falls, near Colorado Springs. Has mid-century modern aesthetic.

Warwick Hotel Renovations

The 216-guest room Warwick Hotel in Denver recently completed a $25 million renovation.

Westin Hotel at Denver International Airport

 In fall 2015, a new 500-room Westin Hotel will open its doors at Denver International Airport as part of the South Terminal Redevelopment project. The hotel will have its own station on the electric commuter rail line.

Breckenridge International Festival of Arts

August 14-23. Performances, screenings, family entertainment.

Friday Night Movie and Music Series

June 19 to August 7 in Breckenridge.

Jaipur Literature Festival

In Boulder, September 18-20. Free talks, readings, music, writing workshops and debate.

MLS All-Star Game

In Denver, in late July or early August. Date TBD.

Rendezvous International for Canyoneering

In Ouray, August 9 -15. Canyon trips, movies, demos.

Rocky Mountain National Park’s 100th Anniversary Celebration

Through September 4, Rediscover and reconnect with the wilderness, wildlife, and wonder of Colorado.

USA Pro Challenge

August 12-23. Cycling race starts in Steamboat Springs and draws more than 1 million fans.

Avanti Food & Beverage and Stanley Marketplace

New European-style food halls in Denver feature food and drink.

Avery Brewing Company

Boulder-based craft beer company moved into an expanded $27 million facility. Free tours and tastings daily.

David Burke Kitchen

New restaurant in Aspen features “Rec Room,” a wood-paneled space reminiscent of a 1970’s basement.

Nocture

Modern jazz/supper club opens in Denver warehouse.  

Red Fox Cellars 

New winery in Palisade also features cider.

Red Maple Catering

Chef Jason Harrison is doing private catering in Vail Valley, showcasing local purveyors.

St. Vrain Brewing Company 

Estes Park’s first microbrewery is now open.

Zwei Bruder

New German-style craft brewery in Fort Collins, opened by two brothers.

 

NATURE

New National Monument

On February 19, President Barack Obama officially designated Browns Canyon, in the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation area of Colorado, a national monument. It offers camping, mountain biking, hiking and views.
